I'm going to close the topics in the 2007 folder, and would like to make the final post a tribute to Maggie.

She was a lovely lady, and will be sadly missed by all. Her positive attitude should inspire us all. Thrombocythaemia was an aspect of her problems, most likely caused by the Cancer that finally took her on the 11th of May. Her love of life was apparent in her posts, which I encourage you to read in rememberance. Respect.

Thanks also to Catriona, Maggies eldest daughter...

We are very blessed to add to our family. His big brother loves him very much and has been a great helper at only 2 1/2 years old. My last few counts before the birth were around 800 thousand. I had a natural birth - which went good....but i would recommend the epidural to anyone who can have it!! I was admitted around...

I was just diagnosed with ET with a 1.2 million count. The only symptom I have had in the last year was a throbbing toe. A blood test showed my high platelet count. I am on Hydria and am anxiously looking forward to my next blood test in 1 week. I am a commercial pilot and unable to fly until my platelets are lowered. I am a fit and active 48 yo male and the illness has not seemed to slow me down--I still swim, ski etc... Can anybody fill me in on some scenarios for best and worse case?...

Hi everyone,

I'm the 28 year old kiwi girl with ET (thought I'd better refresh your memory as I haven't written for a while!). I recently had my haemo appt with platelet count in the mid 700's (my range is 600-early 900's to date). So I'm still on baby asprin for now. I've been really tired lately and having a lot of digestive troubles plus the odd migraine but other than that not too bad (these may or may not be ET related. It can be so hard to tell!) Sometimes I wonder if the bone...

I have suffered for the last 12 months and had various remedies, ie beconase, nasonex, antibiotics, sudafed. Nothing has helped!!
