Thanks to all of you for your warm welcome, Its the same old story of nobody else I know having ever even heard of this disease.
Even my gynaecologist/surgeon who has been doing surgeries for 20 years had never heard of it. My own gp had a vague idea of it and mumbled something about thrombcytopenia! wrong one I know. However according to haematologist they see quite a few cases.

What I should have made clear to you all (especially anyone about to undergo surgery) is that not only was it not known I had et, As I am very fit and healthy, don't smoke etc ,normal blood pressure and weight, Not only was I not treated as an et case I was in fact treated as a low risk surgery, had they known things would have been very different. I would for a start have had a drain fitted to my wound, amongst many other things,I thought I would make this clear so as not to freak anyone out about any op they may have planned.

Once again thanks for you kind words
Regards Saz.
