Hi Cassandra,

Prior to my diagnosis of ET, I had terrible itching on my skin. I noticed it after showering, and while laying in bed at night. I tried using different soaps and body wash, but it didn't help. I was always complaining to my husband about the itching, and at night the last thing usually said between us was "are you done, yet?", because I was always squirming and scratching LOL. I just couldn't lay still. It drove me nuts.
My husband told me that I was always itching...apparently I only noticed it when I was still, like in bed, though.

When I was diagnosed, I learned that ET causes histamine levels to rise. Turns out that the itching was one of my ET symptoms all along. My doctor prescribed me an antihistamine (Zyrtec). It has done wonders. I still itch quite a bit after showering, but that's pretty much it. I can actually lay still in bed, and my husband says I don't fidget nearly as much during the day.

Maybe ask your doctor is he/she thinks maybe an antihistamine would help you, as well?
