Hi Mark,

I know everything seems daunting when you first get diagnosed with ET. There is a lot to learn and many questions to ask. Everyone on this site is happy to answer any questions or share their story with you.
I've had this for 22 years now. I am in the UK and part of a clinical trail. I've been on both drugs. I think I know why your Dr Blood chose A!
Hu passes the blood brain barrier and can cause side effects because of this. I myself was not at all lucid while on HU and my memory was shocking (its never been good at the best of times). I have not experienced this with A. I have looked at the literature and even though A also passes the blood brain barrier there seems to be little written about it.
So I was mental on HU but dont have that excuse now lol
I had the heart palpitations at 3 in the morning they woke me up and it is a very strange sensation to wake up too!!!!!
I dont get them any more thank goodness. Instead I get gout.
I am the gout queen on this site so if you get any pains let me know

Welcome to our little family
