To add my two cents... I'm 2 months shy of 56 years of age and my last three counts have been over 800,000 -- platelets having been elevated since 1999. Thankfully I am still, I guess, basically symptom free (tired, but that could be age and lack of rest -- not enough time to work and do everything I need and want to do, and get enough sleep!). Basically I feel fairly well. I am not on medication for this either... I have continued with supplements that are supposed to help make the blood less sticky and I do take an occasional (very occasional) low dose aspirin. But who knows what is best?! As has been said before, we all need to be as informed as possible so we can make what we feel to be the best decision for ourselves, individually. (And pray!)
