Hi There,
I have been onto this website on and off since dec 08 when I was diagnosed with Jak2 positve ET, discovered after a hysterectomy op.
This was because I had severe unexplained post op bleeding which resulted in my having to have another op and two blood transfusions.
There is no doubt that being diagnosed whilst ok is definately the best option.
More worryingly was the fact that I passed preop assessments with flying colours! ie platelets were high end of normal 400. They shot up to 2 million for several months after op,they were going to start hydroxyurea but held off in case it was partly reactive (now back into 800s) just on aspirin, but platelet function is very poor hence the reason for hysterectomy has now become clear after 10 years of hell.
However I now feel lucky to have recovered as well as i have and feel fortunate to now know what is wrong.
Thought it was time I posted regards to you all -Saz.
