This last month I have been taking 2x Zantac 75mg tablets a day. This is to take away the effects of acid reflux. My platelet count a month ago was 535 and without any change to my ET medication just by taking the Zantacs my count was reduced by 100 to 435.
Perhaps some of you guys might like to try this little experimentation. Zantac is something that does not interfere with our drugs so there should be no problem in using it.
I know a 100 reduction is not great but for guys like Markjon who are not taking the main meds it might be worth checking out. I am not sure how much use a reduction of 100 might be if you are walking around with platelets of over 1200 but at least its a step in the right direction.
One other thing is that I can never correctly pronounce this desease we all share. Can anyone break down the name phonetically so I can get a hang on it. I mention this because I had to see a doctor on an unrelated condition and I pronounced it wrong. He thought it was the one where too few platelts are produced. It seems both names are very similar.
Ok everyone Happy New Year.
